Richard Rockwell Vernotzy

Under the direction of Richard Rockwell Vernotzy, a senior industry leader and Registered Professional Engineer, ROCKWELL brings over 25 years of expertise in design and operation of subsea drilling systems, architecture systems and new technology development. Projects include offshore and deepwater/subsea field development systems, mechanical design of drilling, completion, workover and implementation, production planning and operations. Richard has earned the reputation as the 'go to' person for industry knowledge and effective project management.

Recognized by the Society of Petroleum Engineers, SPE, as a Member of the SPE Legion of Honor, Richard has domestic and international experience with major oil & gas companies and both major and independent drilling contractors. He served as President/CEO of a technology development firm and managed deepwater development studies for the Gulf of Mexico, West Coast of Africa and Brazil. From his years of experience, Richard has developed sought-after training modules in deepwater drilling, completion and production.

Richard holds B. A. in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Louisiana in Lafayette, and is a Registered Professional Engineer. He is a member of SPE, the Marine Technology Society, (MTS), the International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC) and a 14 year member and Past President of the National Oilfield Equipment Manufacturers and Delegates Society (NOMADS).

Clients have included Mobil Nigeria, Chevron Nigeria, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, ADDAX Nigeria, Sonangol in Angola and Chevron Angola, Petropros International Nigeria and FMC Corporation USA, including specialized deliveries through University of Texas and Texas A&M.
